Denver & Boulder Scrabble is a recreational club for players of all levels who love the game. Our aim is to have fun, while learning strategy, building our vocabulary, and improving our play.
We welcome and encourage new, casual, or online players to join. We'll have copies of the Cheat Sheet on hand for beginners to use during play and take to study. New players also have free challenges (i.e. no loss of turn if you challenge a word that's good).
Games are one-on-one. Typically, each player is allotted 25 minutes per game, with games lasting 50 minutes or less. Newer players can play untimed. Club sessions usually last four hours. The only dues are to buy food. Bring a classic board and a timer, if you have one.
Come prepared to have fun, meet like-minded folks, learn lots of words, and face a range of skill. Some of our members have been playing for decades; others, for months. We are all still learning, and a night of all wins is rare for any player.
